SpinalMotion, Inc. is a privately held medical device company focused on designing, developing and marketing the most advanced artificial discs for use in the spine. Its proprietary Kineflex Technology, is intended to preserve motion in the spine for patients suffering from degenerative disc disease (DDD) in the cervical and lumbar spine. Founded in 2004, and building upon the experience of over 4,000 disc implantations worldwide, SpinalMotion is committed to providing artificial disc products with the most advanced materials and kinematics on the market.

Total disc replacement (TDR) is the new standard of care for treating degenerative disc disease. The alternative treatment has long been spinal fusion whereby the surgeon removes the diseased disc and fuses the particular segment of the spine immobile. TDR surgery restores the spine segment back to its normal function similar to that of intact, natural discs.
